In keeping with our emphasis on multidisciplinary patient care, inpatient allied health services are provided by highly competent professionals.
Physiotherapists, dietitians and speech pathologists are all available for consultation when required.
A range of pathology companies do provide a very regular in-patient service on request.
Southern X-ray is located in the Caboolture Public Hospital providing a wide range of diagnostic services to our patients and specialists.
A Pharmacist is onsite Monday – Friday 8am to 2pm and is available after hours. Due to regulations governing some private pharmacies, our pharmacy is able to only dispense prescriptions for in-patients at Caboolture Private Hospital.
During 2006 and planned again for 2007 the Caboolture Private Hospital Day Oncology Unit is working in collaboration with the Wesley ‘Kim Walters Choices Program’ to offer a STRETCH – EXERCISE Program for the Caboolture and North Coast regions.
This cost free program is specifically designed to provide holistic support to ladies with newly diagnosed breast cancer.
Caboolture Private Hospital is easily located 5 minutes from the Bruce Highway and is a pleasant 20 - 30 minute drive from the northern suburbs of Brisbane and from the Sunshine Coast. This has been extremely well received by patients who would otherwise have to travel to Brisbane and the fact that the hospital offers free and plentiful car parking is an added bonus.
Look Good.... Feel Better
Look Good...Feel Better is a free national community service program dedicated to teaching women cancer patients - through hands on experience - techniques to help restore their appearance and self image during chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
The program was founded and developed by the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association (CTFA) in May 1990 and it is administered through the registered charitable organisation, the Cancer Patients Foundation Ltd.
The program utilises the resources of the beauty industry to provide:
- Patient education through group workshop sessions
- Complimentary make up kits for each patient participating in the group workshops
- Free program materials such as videos, patient brochures, and self-help booklets.
Look Good...Feel Better relies on the support of the cosmetic industry to provide the makeup, materials and financial support for the program.
It is important to note that Look Good...Feel Better is product neutral and non-commercial. Volunteers and program participants do not promote any cosmetic product line or manufacturer.
All volunteers for Look Good...Feel Better are trained and certified prior to their participation in the workshops. Currently over 1200 volunteers assist the program.
