$8 million dollar expansion for Caboolture Private Hospital

Aug 07, 2014

In line with increasing demand for private health services in Caboolture and the surrounding communities, Caboolture Private is adding a third Operating Theatre and Day Surgery to its modern facility.

This exciting project is one of the first of its kind in Queensland, using the latest modular design that includes construction of the sections of the building offsite. There are major time savings in this form of construction. The building is constructed offsite in a large “factory” simultaneously while the site foundation works are undertaken and the statutory approvals obtained.

Then this all comes together at delivery. All that is left to do then is to complete the internal fit out and external finishes.

One key benefit is that much fewer trades people and vehicles are required onsite minimising traffic congestion, parking issues and inconvenience with potential disruption to services. The other key benefit is that this construction method will reduce the overall build time by approximately 50%.

The nine individual building modules were delivered onsite, by semi-trailer under police escort. The delivery was staged over two days and each module and roof section was carefully lifted into place by crane.

Hospital staff were very excited to return to work on Monday morning to view the large, new building extension that  virtually “sprang up” overnight!

As stated above, this revolutionary construction process significantly reduces the overall construction time, resulting in this new extension to the hospital being ready for occupancy by the end of August 2014.
