Dr Arunsalam Shyamala is a Specialist General Medicine and Infectious Disease Physician with an interest in diagnosing, treating and monitoring general medical conditions and infectious diseases.

Dr Arunsalam Shyamala is a Specialist General Medicine and Infectious Disease Physician with an interest in diagnosing, treating and monitoring general medical conditions and infectious diseases.  Dr Shyamala embraces patient centred care and brings evidenced based medicine into clinical practice.

She completed her undergraduate training in Sri Lanka and graduated with her MD in 2004.  After relocating to Australia, she continued her training and was awarded her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 2013.  She has more than 20 years' experience in the medical field managing diverse conditions in general and acute care, infectious diseases, as well as tropical medicine and travel medicine.

Dr Shyamala works as a Senior Consultant at Caboolture Hospital and participates in teaching young trainees and medical students.

She is a member of the following organisations:

Direct Admission process for Patients 

Patients can be admitted directly under Dr Shyamala to Caboolture Private Hospital (if they are suitable). Admission is preferred in daylight hours, but possible at any time when there is bed available. Please be aware, sometimes patients need to be assessed by emergency department prior to admission at the private hospital.
