Dr Rasika Hendahewa is a General Surgeon with an interest in colorectal, breast & endocrine and laparoscopic surgery. He is an experienced GESA certified endoscopist who performs both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and has been consulting and operating at Caboolture Private Hospital since 2016.
Dr Hendahewa completed his surgical training in Sri Lanka and obtained his Masters in Surgery in 2007. After completing his surgical training and receiving his Sri Lankan fellowship in 2007, he continued his post fellowship training in Gastrointestinal Surgery - both upper GI and Colorectal. In 2009 he obtained his MRCS in Edinburgh and completed an Advanced Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery in Strasburg, France in 2013. He continued Australian training including breast and endocrine for another two years and completed his Australian Fellowship in 2015.
Dr Hendahewa has a keen interest in teaching and education and is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland. Due to his vast experience and exposure to multiple subspecialties he is a surgical mentor in the region.
Rasika is has a friendly, caring nature and is delighted to offer his patients a prompt and thorough clinical service across a broad range of general surgical procedures.
