Dr Zeb McNamara is a patient focused surgeon who practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery. He enjoys the wide spectrum of cases in the field ranging from dentoalveolar, implantology, corrective jaw surgery to complex facial trauma.
He was born and raised in Queensland, and is happy that he had the opportunity whilst growing up to live both in the great south east and rural Queensland. After completing high school in Emerald (central Queensland) where he received the school’s first OP1, he moved to Brisbane and completed his Pharmacy, Medicine and Dentistry degrees, at the University of Queensland. During his university studies he received several accolades including Commonwealth Scholarships, Dean’s commendation for high achievement, and the George Christensen Memorial Prize for Oral Surgery.
Always keen to teach he has held an associate lecturer position with the University of Queensland since 2010 and recently became a senior lecturer in 2017. Dr McNamara believes that this role allows him the opportunity to guide the next generation of surgeons to the highest standard of patient care.
In 2012 he was selected for specialist training in the Queensland Oral and Maxillofacial surgery program. He completed his training at the Princess Alexandra, Ipswich, Logan, Gold Coast and Royal Brisbane Public Hospitals, culminating in passing his fellowship exams in 2016. Throughout his career Dr McNamara has had a keen interest in research, and has presented and published research both nationally and internationally. In 2018 he was nominated and selected to become the President of the QLD ANZAOMS Oral and Maxillofacial Society.
Dr McNamara is looking forward to working with referrers to provide exceptional patient care at Caboolture Private Hospital.
