Dr Ahmed is a highly experienced and extensively trained general physician and geriatrician. Dr Ahmed has worked and trained in hospitals across Queensland and Pakistan, covering large and ethnically diverse populations. His areas of interest are Geriatric Medicine, Internal Medicine, Acute Geriatrics, Dementia, Incontinence, and Frailty.
Dr Ahmed has been an experienced physician in public and private practice and academic tertiary education for over ten years. His formal qualifications include being a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) London.
After completing his medical training and his fellowship in Medicine in 2009 in Pakistan, he completed his MRCP in London (UK). He then continued Australian General Medicine and Geriatric Medicine training at Cairns, Redcliffe, and Prince Charles hospitals. He completed his FRACP in general Medicine and Geriatric Medicine.
Dr Ahmed is a successful and respected general physician and geriatrician with a friendly, caring nature providing holistic care to his patients. He is delighted to offer his patients prompt and thorough, and personalised care to his patients.
Dr Ahmed has maintained an active interest in teaching and clinical research and is a member American Geriatrics Society (AGS), Australia and the New Zealand Society of Geriatric Medicine (ANZSGM). In addition, he is an accredited supervisor for advanced trainees of RACP, an examiner for fellowship exams, a Senior Lecturer, and an interviewer at the University of QLD.
